Legacy giving

Make safeguarding the Jewish people your legacy

“A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children…”

Proverbs 13:22

Legacy giving or ‘planned giving’ refers to gifts that supporters make as part of their estate or via their will. Wills, bequests, and living trusts are the most popular types of legacy giving; supporters can also name Shurat HaDin as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy or an IRA.

Questions about giving

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Tax-deductible credit card and check donations to Shurat HaDin can be made in the United States, Israel, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, France, and many European Union countries.

Check donations are tax-deductible in the relevant currencies; see Donate by check for the partner organization in each country.

Will I receive a receipt?

After your donation is processed, you will receive a thank you note and a tax receipt from Shurat HaDin or from our partner organizations.

Which currencies can I give in online?

By credit card: Israeli shekels through CauseMatch, Australian dollars through Chai Charitable Foundation, and US dollars and every other currency through IsraelGives.

How do I give through a Donor Advised Fund (DAF)?

Please make payments to “Central Fund of Israel” earmarked to “SHD834”. CFI Tax ID# 13-2992985. Mailing address: The Central Fund of Israel, 429 Central Avenue Cedarhurst, NY 11516.

Can I give by wire transfer or stock?

Yes. Donations can also be made via wire and stock transfer. Please contact rachel@israellawcenter.org for instructions and for any questions regarding donations.

What constitutes ‘legacy giving’?

Legacy giving typically includes bequests, life insurance policies, IRAs, real estate, cash, stocks, and a percentage of the estate. Naming Shurat HaDin as a (primary/contingent) beneficiary is a simple and powerful way to support our work without updating your will.

Can I choose how a legacy gift is used?

Yes. Whether you’re interested in supporting our internship program, advocacy seminars, missions, the fight against BDS, war crime allegations, blocking terror funding, or filing civil lawsuits seeking compensation for terror victims, with legacy giving you can specify how your gift will be spent.

How do I inform Shurat HaDin of my legacy gift?

Once you have completed arrangements with your lawyer or financial planner, you may choose to send a copy of the section of your will or trust document that details your charitable plans to Shurat HaDin. Please also fill out the non-binding Letter of Intent so we can be aware, and so we can thank you.
